Sarnath Express
The Sarnath Express, numbered 15159 / 15160, is a well-known train in the North Eastern Railway. It connects Chhapra Junction with Durg Junction. Previously, it ran between Varanasi Junction and Durg Junction, but now it has been extended to Chhapra Junction.
Overview
The Sarnath Express runs from Chhapra Junction to Durg Junction. The former Minister of Railways, Pawan Kumar Bansal, announced during the Railway Budget for 2013–2014 that the train service would also include stops at Muzaffarpur Junction and Gonda Junction.

Traction
A WAP-7 electric locomotive, based in Kanpur Loco Shed, Bhilai, and Lallaguda, pulls the train from Chhapra Junction to Durg Junction and back.
Coaches
The train has different types of coaches: one First AC (HA1), two Second AC (2A), eight Third AC (3A), and five Sleeper Class (LS) coaches. There are five General Class coaches and two Seating-Luggage rakes. On March 16, 2017, it was announced that an extra Third AC coach would be added from March 19, 2017, to June 19, 2017.
Route Details
The service starts as Train No. 15159 at Chhapra Junction. It travels through Ghazipur City, Varanasi Junction, Allahabad Junction, Katni Junction, Uslapur (a satellite station of Bilaspur), and Raipur before reaching Durg Junction. The return journey starts as Train No. 15160 and takes the same route back to Chhapra Junction.
